The space in which we move and interact defines us as who we are. There is no doubt that at the same time, we as individuals and together as a society play an important role in molding the spaces in which we grow, both public and private.
Being born and raised in Bucharest felt like living in the heart of an urban jungle. A mixture of both eastern and western influences was pushing along, popping everywhere. As far as your eyes could see, there was no horizon, just banners obscuring the view. Capitalist plastics over communist flats. Such an exotic visual interface to work with.
I feel attached and somehow attracted to the aesthetic of the neighbourhood. Finding myself feeling all these things, I started to wander/wonder.
This project aims at portraying not only one neighbourhood or one city, but many. And still, the sameness of the scenery is embedded in time and space.
